Merge PDF Files Online
Select two or more PDF documents, arrange them in your preferred sequence, and combine them into one unified document with zero quality loss.
Step-by-Step: How to Merge Multiple PDFs
Follow these simple steps to combine contracts, reports, or scanned documents in seconds.
Select Your PDF Files
Drag and drop your PDF files into the upload container or click to choose them from your device. You can upload up to 20 files simultaneously (up to 25 MB each).
Arrange Reading Order
Use the Up (↑) and Down (↓) buttons next to each uploaded file to position them in your desired sequence. The top file will constitute the beginning of the merged document.
Combine & Download
Click Merge Documents. In-browser processing finishes in seconds, generating a clean, unified PDF. Click Download Merged PDF to save it directly to your device.
How Document Ordering & Output Page Counts Work
When you load documents into the merge queue, our engine reads the internal /Pages catalog dictionary of each file. It determines the exact number of pages each file contributes:
- Sequential Page Stacking: The file at position 1 fills pages 1 through N. The file at position 2 immediately follows, starting on page N+1.
- Reordering with One Click: You can click the Up (↑) or Down (↓) arrows to swap adjacent documents in the queue at any time prior to clicking Merge.
- Removing Accidental Files: If an unrelated file is uploaded by mistake, click the red Trash () button to purge it from the batch before processing starts.

File Limits & Technical Specifications
- Format Standard: Fully compatible with PDF 1.0 through PDF 2.0 specs.
- File Size Ceiling: Up to 25 MB per individual document; 100 MB total session limit.
- Batch Limit: Up to 20 PDF files can be combined in a single merging pass.
- Lossless Fidelity: Embedded typography, vector paths, and raster figures remain untouched.
Privacy & In-Browser Execution
Your sensitive corporate contracts, tax returns, and medical records are processed directly within your web browser memory. Documents are not saved to remote file systems or persistent cloud storage.

Practical Scenarios for Merging PDFs
Streamline your document workflows across business, academic, and personal tasks.
Contracts & Addenda
Combine standard master agreements with schedules, exhibits, statement of work (SOW) documents, and signature execution pages into one cohesive legal package.
Expense & Audit Reports
Collate monthly accounting summaries, vendor invoices, payment confirmations, and receipt scans into a structured single-file audit trail for finance teams.
Portfolios & Job Applications
Join your cover letter, resume, letters of recommendation, and design samples into an easily shareable, professional single file that recruiters can review smoothly.
Note on Practical Scenarios: The examples above illustrate typical organizational workflows. Actual processing time and compatibility depend on the structure of your specific input files. Non-standard, partially encrypted, or damaged source files may require pre-processing before merging.
Troubleshooting & Common Merging Mistakes
1. Uploading Encrypted Documents: Attempting to merge a password-protected PDF without unlocking it first is the most common cause of parsing errors. Always open the file in your PDF viewer, enter your password, and save an unencrypted copy prior to merging.
2. Damaged Cross-Reference (xref) Tables: Incompletely downloaded files or older scanned documents with missing EOF markers cannot be parsed. Opening and re-saving the file in Chrome or Adobe Acrobat will repair the header and trailer index.
3. Neglecting Document Order: Remember to inspect the queue sequence before clicking Merge. While you can re-merge at any time, taking five seconds to position documents with the Up/Down buttons saves you having to start over.
